Terminal Remodel & Expansion
Our expertise in navigating complex projects was on full display when we were awarded the contract to take on the Twin Falls Airport expansion in June 2015. There was a little unexpected turbulence along the way; when Congress threw a curveball with funding delays, did we panic? Not a chance.
Working hand-in-hand with Airport Manager Bill Carberry and Architect Martin Hahle of CSHQA, we navigated the requirements for funding this project through the FAA. The decision was made to delay the project until the Spring of 2016 to ensure the proper funding would be in place. PBC flexed our construction management muscles and adapted our timeline, proving that we don’t just react to challenges — we conquer them.

Construction got underway on April 1st, 2016, and was completed in 342 days. This project was done in 4 phases, and each phase was completed at least 10 days ahead of schedule, despite several challenges that came our way.
It was a record-breaking snowfall year in Twin Falls, there were 170 extra diverted aircraft, and 320 extra flights came through the airport. Petersen Brothers Construction didn’t just maneuver around these hurdles, we soared over them and shattered budget expectations, increasing the project’s contingency by a whopping 50%.
That’s the PBC difference:
Delivering more value without cutting corners or missing deadlines.
